The NorthWood Girls Volleyball team, better known as the Red Slam, opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion Monday night, traveling to East Noble and earning a straight-set victory. NorthWood took control early and never let up, winning 25-19, 26-24, 25-21 to start the season 1-0. Offensively, Ella Branham led the way with a match-high 20 kills, while Krystal Hershberger added four. The Panthers also got three aces apiece from Kenzie Miller and Allie Yoder. Defensively, Nola Nephew anchored the back row with 20 digs, followed by Miller with 10. At the net, Addie Davis made her presence felt with a team-high five blocks. The offense was directed by Abby Schmucker, who recorded 17 assists, while Yoder added 15 assists of her own.
