NorthWood Boys Tennis returned to the road Thursday evening for its second match of the 2026 season, falling 5-0 to Westview in varsity competition while the Panther junior varsity squad battled the Warriors to a 3-3 tie. Westview swept the five varsity positions, moving NorthWood to 1-1 overall following Tuesday's season-opening victory at Jimtown. At No. 1 singles, senior Nolan Tompos fell to Westview senior Kaden Hostetler, 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Carter Rose faced senior Luke Stults at No. 2 singles and dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision, while senior Aiden McEndarfer fell to Ethan Miller, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3. NorthWood's closest varsity match came at No. 1 doubles. Seniors Eli Heckathorn and Ethan Tompos battled Jaxon Miller and Pierce Yoder before falling 6-3, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, senior Sebastian Chapman and junior Colton Ewers were defeated by Avery Christner and Hudsen Yoder, 6-0, 6-1. The junior varsity Panthers earned wins in two singles matches and one doubles contest to finish the evening even with Westview, 3-3. Junior Jack Johnson earned an 8-5 victory over Miles Yoder at No. 1 singles, and junior Jackson Kemp matched that score with an 8-5 win over Grady Yoder at No. 2.
