The NorthWood Girls Volleyball program hosted West Noble Tuesday night, with the Junior Varsity squad earning a two-set victory while the Varsity Red Slam battled throughout a three-set match. Junior Varsity The NorthWood JV team came away with a 25-18, 26-24 victory over West Noble. The win moves the JV Panthers to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Varsity The Varsity Red Slam fell to West Noble 15-25, 17-25, 16-25. NorthWood was led offensively by Ella Branham with 10 kills, followed by Krystal Hershberger with 4 kills. Hershberger also recorded 2 aces. Branham and Nola Nephew paced the defensive effort with 15 and 13 digs, respectively. At the net, JaMya Nelson and Addie Davis each contributed 2 blocks. The Panthers’ offense was directed by Allie Yoder with 11 assists, while Abby Schmucker added 5 assists. The Varsity Red Slam remains 8-6 overall and 2-0 in the conference. NorthWood returns to action Thursday at Mishawaka.
